The entire country is dominated by the rich state known as the Capitol. In the Capitol, the people are rich and live lavish lives. In the rest of the districts, however, the conditions are deplorable and the people extremely poor. The Capitol arranges an annual event called The Hunger Games, in which, citizens from the rest of the 12 districts fight till their death in a dangerous arena which is televised to the entire country.

I was skeptical of reading this book, after seeing the movie I thought it would have been slow and not up to par, however, I was totally engrossed in the book from the first chapter! Fantastic work Mrs. Not only did this product arrive in great condition but it was in record speed that it was received. The book itself is very intriguing and entertaining. I got this book for my daughter's summer reading. She loved it so much, she asked that I get the sequel which I did. I started reading it since she had a great review of it , that I find myself reading the book every chance I get!
